What's new
Every change to BirthAlmanac that a visitor could see, newest first, dated to the day it went live. Fixes nobody could notice are left out. If something here does not match the site, the contact page says how to tell us.
- BirthAlmanac opened: a birthday calculator that gives the star sign from the moment the sun actually changed sign, to the minute, and on a day it changed offers an optional time-of-birth field to settle it; the birthstones on the 1912 list and on today's; the birth flowers; the weekday of any birthday; and the Chinese animal from the real lunar new year.
- A link to any answer, a share button, and a picture of the answer's eight plates to save; the calculator also gives the moon's phase on the date.
- Under every answer, how each result was worked out, with the other traditions beside it: the sign in the sidereal zodiac, the animal by the solar year the four pillars use, the birthstone list of 1912, the Victorian flower dictionaries, the other way of adding up a life path, and the tarot birth card.
- A birthday through the years, from the weekday it falls on each year to the full moons and the golden birthday, and the date in the Julian, Hebrew, Islamic, Persian and Chinese lunar calendars.
- Compare birthdays: two dates or a whole family side by side, what they share and the arithmetic between them, with no compatibility score.
- A page for each month, with the dates the signs change, the stones and flowers, the dates to know, and who was born on each day.
- A page for every date of the year, with who was born and who died on it, and for the dates the sun changes sign and the dates the Chinese year can begin on, the story of that date year by year.
- When the sun changes sign this year and next, to the minute, and by your own clock.
- A page for each decade from the 1920s, with the world those years were born into, the generations, and each year's Chinese animal.
- Guides to where the sources disagree: why zodiac dates shift, how the birthstone lists differ, when the Chinese year begins, and more.
- The tarot: all seventy-eight cards with a search, the birth card, and a draw of one card, three cards or the Celtic Cross. The zodiac, life path numbers, the days of the week, and the generations.
